There is no need to evoke the up-and-about nature of the Berlin startup scene in order to explain why a Startup Weekend Berlin is taking place, is there? Please mark your calendars for Nov 15 – 17 for the  4th  Startup Weekend Berlin – in the context of Global Entrepreneurship Week.

At the event’s core is the same concept that has drawn over 100,000 prior attendees worldwide: startup enthusiasts of different backgrounds come together, share and pitch ideas, form teams and work an entire weekend to finally present a (minimally viable) product to a panel of experts – and then – maybe –  launch a startup.  Startup Weekend Berlin is hoping to further connect  the vibrant creative community of Berlin with the equally thriving startup community.  In any case, everybody will  go home with new (and yes! important) contacts , potential co-workers and an inspired feeling ( … and possibly a dire case of sleep deprivation.)

Stay tuned – here and on Facebook or on Twitter. Our Hashtag is #swb.

Fabian Liebig

Marketing Manager DACH at Optimizely   |   LinkedIn

Already during my bachelor studies in Business, Language and Culture at Copenhagen Business School I was connected to startups and worked for one myself in a marketing role. After my studies, I decided to go to Latin America because I wanted to gain some work experience in a Spanish speaking country. I chose to work for a bigger company, Dell for one year, also in a marketing function but this time in sunny Panama. Despite exotic surroundings I found working in such a big company little fulfilling. Amsterdam seemed like the perfect place to study a master. I found a master called business admin. and entrepreneurship (yes you can, but you probably shouldn't study it). Alongside my studies, I gained a lot of experience with startups working at Rockstart, a One-stop Shop for Startups in Amsterdam (Our slogan was: We love startups). That was more up my ally. Even before finishing my master I started working at Optimizely. A very challenging and exciting place to be. Optimizely was part of Y-Combinator in San Francisco. It is the #1 A/B testing tool and is currently building out its presence in Europe and especially Germany. I love startups, learning about them and sharing some of my knowledge as well.
